They called us lazy. We called for change.
The Modern American Dream (MAD) was created from a simple truth. Working class Americans have carried this country on their backs since its beginning. Through war, through economic hardship, through every generation, everyday people have been the ones who kept America moving forward.
Work has always been framed as a moral test. If you worked hard enough, you earned respect. If you struggled, you were blamed. Women fought for the right to work and to be taken seriously, and even then the expectation became that they must work like men while still carrying everything else at home. Work became not only a responsibility but the proof of our worth.
Something was lost along the way. We were told to worship productivity. We were told rest was weakness. We were told wanting time with family meant we lacked ambition. We know better. Family, health, joy, and human connection should not be rare privileges. A good quality of life should not be reserved for the lucky few. Balance should not feel impossible.
MAD exists to challenge outdated systems and create a new vision of success for the next generation. We explore work reform, economic fairness, and the emotional reality of being overworked in modern America. Many people cannot afford homes even while working full time. Many feel they must choose between survival and happiness. A country fighting for survival is a country that is too busy to care about bigger issues. This is not the dream we were promised.
Through research, storytelling, and public engagement, we work to reshape the narrative of what the American Dream can be today. A dream where people are valued not only for what they produce, but for who they are.
This is not only a think tank. It is a movement. A place for people who are tired, hopeful, and ready to reclaim life beyond the grind.
America calls itself the land of the free.
MAD is here to help make that true.

Mission
To promote a healthier, more balanced version of the American Dream. One where hard work is valued alongside quality of life. We focus on practical solutions that support economic stability, wellbeing, and the dignity of everyday people.
Vision
We imagine a new era of the American Dream. One that still honors hard work, without glorifying burnout, and one that gives every individual the chance to build a life filled with meaning, rest, stability, and connection.
